Does it work while charging?
Yes. You can keep the camera plugged in via USB for continuous use — ideal for long journeys where you want an always-on rear view.
How long does the battery last?
A full charge gives you roughly 2 hours of continuous use. For longer trips, simply keep it plugged into a USB power source. The battery only drains while the camera is actively in use.
Do I need a memory card?
Only if you want to record footage or take photos. For live reversing and hitching, no memory card is needed — the video streams directly to your phone.
Can I connect more than one camera?
Yes — you can pair up to four cameras with the same phone and switch between them in the app. Handy if you want views from multiple angles.
Will the mount hold at motorway speeds?
It's been tested at speeds up to 100 mph. That said, we recommend removing it overnight to prevent theft. You can also mount it to a door as a security camera when parked up.
Does it work with a separate monitor, or just phones?
The ClearView Hitch Cam works with the free app on smartphones and tablets (iOS & Android). It doesn't connect to standalone monitors.
