Most suction shelves fail the same way. A plain stick-on cup traps a little air when you press it up, and over the following days that air slowly leaks out. The seal weakens, the shelf creeps down the tiles, and one morning it lets go and tips your bottles into the bath.

ClearGrip is engineered around a different mechanism. Each mount has a press-lever on top: you position the cup against the tile, press the lever down, and it physically draws the air out from behind a soft sealing ring, locking the cup under vacuum. It isn't stickiness — it's negative pressure held by a mechanical lock, which is why it grips far harder than an ordinary cup and doesn't quietly leak its way loose.

How hard does it hold? In the manufacturer's own test, the two press-lever cups held a loaded shelf carrying 5 kg (11 lb) of weight against a smooth wall — and stayed put. That's well beyond the everyday load of shampoo, conditioner, cleansers and brushes a bathroom actually throws at it.
